Zhejiang enjoys one of the highest standards of living among Chinese provinces, its development and wealth backed by strong infrastructure and industry. It is known as a center of manufacturing, especially for the electromechanical, textile and construction materials industry. The people of Zhejiang have greatly benefited from the province's development, but they are realizing that industrialization comes with a price tag.
